Here's a complete breakdown of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie timeline, from The Curse of the Black Pearl to Dead Men Tell No Tales.
ThePirates of the Caribbeanmovie timeline isn't complicated, but it is quite extensive. Beginning withPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearlin 2003, Disney managed to not only successfully adapt one of its oldest and most beloved theme park rides into a movie, but they had created a franchise out of it that would enliven summers at the movies for years to come.
ThePirates of the Caribbean franchise not only revived Johnny Depp's career by giving him a new character - rakish pirate Jack Sparrow - to channel, but it helped truly launch the careers of actors Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. Admittedly, Bloom had made his official big-screen debut in Peter Jackson'sLord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ringand stayed with thefranchisethrough 2003, but Pirates of the Caribbeanarguably helped turn Bloom into a bonafide box office star. Meanwhile, Knightley had minor movie roles in the past and would appear in a key role in the ensemble rom-comLove Actuallythe same year asThe Curse of the Black Pearl, but again, Pirates of the Caribbeanis the franchise that launched Knightley into the stratosphere.
